Keynote Speaker Highlights

Sunday, October 12: STEPHEN RITZ
Founder of the Green Bronx Machine, Emmy Award–winning educator, and White House presenter, Stephen has revolutionized classrooms through hydroponics and urban agriculture. His keynote will highlight the power of sustainability, student engagement, and real-world STEM learning.

Monday, October 13: ANDREW KUHN
Host of the ChangeED podcast, Andrew started his career as a middle school educator. To now he uses his own voice to discuss STEM education, PA STEELS Standards, and other important and relative educational topics on the popular ChangeED podcast. Join him for a forward-thinking keynote packed with practical classroom takeaways.

  • “STEM is Stern” Sail Ride: Sponsored by the National Inventors Hall of Fame, this unforgettable STEM experience aboard the historic Lettie G. Howard (1893) lets educators explore science from the deck of a working schooner.
  • Grow Erie Aquaculture Tour: sponsored by Intag, tour one of Erie’s newest sustainable facilities and discover how aquaculture connects to food systems, ecosystems, and science literacy. (Shuttle provided.)

Monday Morning Field Trips – October 13, Free on-site experiences – no ticket needed. These two sessions will be a first come first served opportunity during the conference!

  • Erie Maritime Museum – Dive into Lake Erie’s rich maritime history and explore resources aligned with STEELS.
  • CLEER: Center for Lake Erie Education and Research – Discover classroom-ready programming in freshwater ecology and environmental science.
